In the field of non-metallic mineral processing, perlite holds an important position due to its unique physical properties. This glassy rock, formed by the rapid cooling of volcanic acidic lava, is widely used in many industries such as building insulation, chemical fillers, and horticultural improvement, thanks to the advantages of light weight, heat insulation and sound insulation brought by the pearl fissure structure. Recently, a perlite processing enterprise in Henan Province has built a 10t/h pulverizing production line using Cronus 5R4128 Raymond mill. Customized solutions address the core demands of production
At the very beginning of the project, the client clearly defined strict production targets: Using pearl rock as the processing material, a stable production capacity of 10 tons per hour is required. The feed particle size should be controlled within 0 to 30mm, and the fineness of the finished product needs to precisely cover the range of 200 mesh to 325 mesh. The perlite powder within this fineness range can not only meet the core requirements of building thermal insulation mortar but also adapt to the filler demands of the chemical industry.
In response to the characteristics of perlite, such as a Mohs hardness of 5.5-6.5 and a content of 2-6% bound water, the Cronus technical team has tailored a production solution centered around the 5R4128 Raymond mill. This equipment adopts an optimized longitudinal pendulum grinding structure, which can not only efficiently break through the fragile processing characteristics of perlite, but also solve the problem of powder agglomeration that may be caused by water evaporation during the grinding process through precise temperature control design, ensuring the quality of the finished product from the source.
