Jaw crushers operate in extremely harsh environments. Coupled with the different types of ores they process, wear and tear of vulnerable parts is a common occurrence. Especially the core part of the crusher, the bearings, are prone to wear. If the wear is severe, they need to be replaced. How to replace the bearings correctly? What should be noted when replacing bearings?
The commonly used method for changing bearings is the impact method.When changing bearings, it is necessary to protect the shaft head from being damaged: a sleeve with a force-bearing surface thickness of 40mm can be made and placed on the shaft head to prevent the flywheel from directly hitting the eccentric shaft and damaging the shaft head.
Second, the position of impact on the bearing should be selected appropriately, allowing the bearing to disengage from the moving jaw cavity first. If there is a deviation in the axis, align it and continue to impact until the bearing completely disengages from the moving jaw cavity.
Thirdly, when a crane is used to lift a heavy object and strike the eccentric shaft, the centerline of the flywheel should be kept as straight as possible with the eccentric centerline.
After the worn bearings are replaced, new ones need to be assembled and installed. At this point, two points should be noted:
When installing the eccentric shaft and the bearing on it into the movable jaw, the movable jaw should be placed upright, and a flywheel should be placed under it to raise it to a certain height above the ground, making the axis of the movable jaw cavity as perpendicular as possible to the horizontal plane. Then, burn wood under it and let the flame pass through the cavity. Heat the movable jaw cavity for about 1.5 hours, and then lift the eccentric shaft and drop it vertically into the cavity. To ensure the accurate and proper installation of the bearings, the oil seal, end cover and retaining ring of the bearings should be installed in advance at the shaft head of the lifting end, and then the external bearings should be installed.
After installing the eccentric shaft, keep the moving jaw stationary and then install the other flywheel immediately. Four suitable double-ended bolts can be used, with one end inserted into the four screw holes at the shaft head. Then, lift the flywheel horizontally, paying attention to the up and down direction of the flywheel. Slowly lower it. Pass the shaft hole through these four bolts. Align the flat key with the keyway. Put the shaft end cover on the three bolts, add a pad, screw on the nut, press the flywheel down, and strike it forcefully at the same time. The installation of the flywheel will be completed quickly.
The vulnerable parts of the jaw crusher should be inspected and replaced frequently to ensure that the service life of the crusher can be extended and the safety during operation can be guaranteed.
