Vietnam 1250-Mesh Calcite Ultrafine Grinding Project — CRLMS Ultrafine Grinding Mill

In Binh Duong, Vietnam, a leading local supplier of chemical raw materials urgently required a robust and efficient solution for processing high-purity calcite. To meet the growing market demand for high-end plastic masterbatches and paper coatings, the client sought a grinding system capable of producing ultra-fine powder at 1250 mesh (D97 ≤ 10μm) with a uniform and stable particle size distribution. Following multiple rounds of technical evaluation, Cronus’s CRLMS series ultra-fine grinding mill distinguished itself through its exceptional ultra-fine grinding efficiency and was ultimately selected for this project.

The raw material selected for this project is high-quality white calcite sourced locally in Vietnam.

Chemical Composition: The CaCO₃ (calcium carbonate) content exceeds 98.5%.

Whiteness: The measured whiteness ranges between 95% and 97%, providing an excellent raw material foundation for producing high-brightness plastic fillers.

Moisture Content: Extremely low, typically below 0.5%, ensuring smooth flow of the raw material within the grinding chamber and minimizing the risk of clogging.

Benefiting from the high purity inherent in the local ore, the final 1250-mesh calcite powder produced exhibits a remarkably low oil absorption value—a critical quality indicator for downstream polymer applications.

Technical Advantages of the Production Line

The CRLMS series grinding equipment offers significant technical advantages:

Low Construction Costs: Compared to vertical roller mills and ball mill systems, the CRLMS requires 50% less floor space and reduces construction costs by approximately 70%. By integrating crushing, drying, grinding, classifying, and conveying functions into a single unit, the system is simplified and can be installed outdoors, resulting in lower capital investment and construction costs.

Low Operating Costs: The system features high grinding efficiency and low power consumption, reducing electricity usage by 40–50% compared to traditional ball mills. The grinding rollers and liners are manufactured from high-chromium wear-resistant materials, ensuring minimal wear and a long service life, thereby reducing operating expenses. Furthermore, the system can be equipped with an external circulation device to further optimize power consumption.

Reliable Operation: Equipped with automatic control systems, the unit enables remote operation and features a simple, user-friendly interface. It also incorporates limit devices designed to prevent direct contact between the grinding rollers and the liner plates, thereby effectively safeguarding the equipment.

Convenient Maintenance: Utilizing hydraulic cylinders to swing the entire grinding roller assembly outward allows for faster and more efficient inspection and maintenance of the rollers and liner plates.

Eco-friendly and Clean: Characterized by minimal vibration and low noise levels, the system operates under negative pressure, ensuring zero dust leakage.

Superior Product Quality: The material’s short retention time within the mill facilitates easy and precise monitoring and control of the final product’s fineness and chemical composition.

Applications of the CRLMS Series in Calcite Processing

The CRLMS series grinding mills provide high-quality fillers and additives for a wide range of industries, including papermaking, plastics, coatings, rubber, inks, and chemicals.

The 1250-mesh calcite powder produced by this client’s production line is primarily utilized in the following applications:

Plastic Masterbatches: Used as a filler to enhance the heat resistance and rigidity of PP/PE plastic products.

Paper Coatings: Used as a coating raw material to improve the opacity (covering power) and surface smoothness of high-grade printing papers.

Rubber Fillers: Used as a reinforcing agent that helps reduce production costs while maintaining tensile strength.

Client Feedback

“Since installing Cronus’s CRLMS series ultrafine grinding mill, we have witnessed a significant improvement in both our production efficiency and product quality. The 1250-mesh calcite powder produced is uniform and consistent in particle size, fully meeting the rigorous standards required for high-end plastic masterbatches and paper coatings. The equipment operates with high efficiency and low power consumption; it is easy to operate and convenient to maintain, while also featuring minimal vibration and low noise levels, with dust effectively controlled. Overall, this grinding system has not only helped us reduce costs but has also made our production process more reliable and environmentally friendly. Choosing Cronus was a very wise decision.”
